About Me
Carolin hales originally from the county of North Yorkshire. She is proud of both her Yorkshire and Scottish roots and list amongst her heroes Sibelius, Geoffrey Boycott, Andrew (Freddie) Flintoff and Mollie Sugden. She now lives in the West Midlands with three of her four children and dog (Casper).
Carolin was raised surrounded by art and Classical Music giving her a love of both. It was a surprise to everyone when she chose to read Mathematics at Hull University. It didn’t take long for her to realise that Maths students are not the most stimulating company, so, after a short working hiatus, completed her degree in Applied Science in Nottingham.
For the majority of her time she has been a devoted mother to four children but has always maintained a passion for craft and creativity. Having spent many years simply doing it for “fun”, she has been encouraged by friends and family to share her creations more widely.
Carolin likes the unusual and always looks to produce items that appeal to her and catch her interest. Whether this is working with “junk Jewellery”, items found beachcombing in Cornwall, or following her personal passion of Steampunk.
Her latest line of Steampunk themed characters are created as a labour of love primarily, working in minute detail and luxurious fabrics to create figures from deep within her imagination.
Although current creations are shown in the photos on this site, Carolin enjoys the challenge of working on commission to create pictures and characters to delight individual tastes.
